THE ATTACHED KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
FOCUS ON INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT

 The Kindergarten Program began in April 1955 as part of the Early Childhood Development program, and is representative of efforts within Fukushima Prefecture to develop early childhood education.
 Following established guidelines for childhood education and development, the kindergarten works with the junior college Early Childhood Development Department to research the meaning and purpose of childhood eduation.
 For two years from 1973, and for three years from 1992, the kindergarten complex was used as a Ministry of Education monitor program.

・ The motto which supports our educational goals is to help children be bright, obedient and intelligent.
1. Body development through physical activities, learning basic manners and customs, developing correct living styles.
2. Develop good scientific attitude using the idea of look, listen, think.
3. Develop sound social ideas and thinking about things through positive group learning
4. Develope obedient minds and encourage childhood dreams through use of creative childhood music, crafts and culture.
5. Leaning aspects of natural science and relations with nature through care of animals and other activities.

・Seasons of the Kindergarten

S P R I N G
Picnic:To help develop the body, students hike to a field where they enjoy playing games and other activities.
Birthdays:The older children celebrate the birthdays of the month by presenting the "birthday kids" with gifts they make themselves.
Visitng day:Parents join the students for a day of dancing and games.
Planting:Students visit a nearby farm where they plant corn, beans and potatoes which they will harvest in the fall.

S U M M E R
Field trips:Visits to factories, planitariums and other interesting places gives them much useful knowledge.
Tanabata:The students always enjoy making ornaments and wish cards for this festival.
Stargazing:Students are able to use the large telescope at the university to view the summer nightime sky.
Overnight stay:A big event is the over-night stay.
Students enjoy fireworks and a movie at night.
They have a marathon in the morning, and also help to make their own meals.

F A L L
Sports festival:Features dance and other activities with parents, as well as competition in various games.
Picnic:The Autumn outing gives students a chance to enjoy nature, and look at autumn bugs and flowers.
This is also the time they dig the potatoes they planted in the spring.
Momijikai:Autumn school festival at which they display various arts and crafts projects they have worked so hard on.

W I N T E R
Christmas:Join together with music and party to celebrate Christmas.
Students presentations:Students present plays and chorus music for their parents and other special guests.
Farewell party:Students make curry rice, cookies and other favorite foods to share with each other.

・Characteristics of the Program

Respect for the development of each child's personality.
Counselor interviews with students to help them grow well.
School lunch program that focuses on health and development of good eating habits.
Parent-Teacher conferences and other school-parent programs to help integrate parent ideas into the school.
Contact with the foreign teachers at the university to give the children a chance to meet foreigners and communicate in English.
